Jitsi Video Bridge is a platform which allows multi-party video conferencing communication. In this tutorial, we will guide you through the process of installing Jitsi Video Bridge on OpenBSD.
Ensure the OpenBSD system is updated and all packages are up to date. Then, install the following packages:
$ sudo pkg_add curl unzip openjdk11 git ant
Next, we will download the required Jitsi Video Bridge files:
$ git clone https://github.com/jitsi/jitsi-videobridge
$ cd jitsi-videobridge
$ git checkout stable
Use Ant to build the Video Bridge:
$ ant
After the build process completes, copy the created jar file to /usr/local/jitsi-videobridge/
:
$ sudo mkdir /usr/local/jitsi-videobridge/
$ sudo cp dist/jitsi-videobridge.jar /usr/local/jitsi-videobridge/
Finally, start the Jitsi Video Bridge service:
$ sudo java -jar /usr/local/jitsi-videobridge/jitsi-videobridge.jar
Ensure firewall access is allowed for the Jitsi Video Bridge:
$ sudo pfctl -f /etc/pf.conf # Update firewall rules
$ echo 'pass in proto udp from any to any port 10000 keep state' | sudo pfctl -f - # Allow UDP traffic on port 10000
You have successfully installed Jitsi Video Bridge on OpenBSD. You can now use it to set up multi-party video conferencing communication.
