How to install KDevelop on OpenBSD

KDevelop is a powerful, free and open-source Integrated Development Environment (IDE) designed for C++ and other programming languages. In this tutorial, we will guide you through the process of installing KDevelop on OpenBSD.

Prerequisites

Before installing KDevelop, make sure your OpenBSD system is up to date by running the following command:

sudo sysupgrade -r

Step 1: Install Dependencies

KDevelop requires some dependencies before installation. Install the required dependencies using the command below:

sudo pkg_add qt5 kio kdevelop

Step 2: Install KDevelop

Once the dependencies have been installed, you can install KDevelop by running the following command:

sudo pkg_add kdevelop

Step 3: Launch KDevelop

After the installation is complete, you can launch KDevelop from the command line or the Application menu.

To launch KDevelop from the command line, execute the following command:

kdevelop

Or, if you prefer to launch KDevelop from the Application menu, search for KDevelop and launch it from the list of installed applications.
