Pydio is an open-source file sharing and synchronization platform that allows you to access files across multiple devices and share them with others. If you want to install Pydio on your OpenSUSE system, follow the steps listed below:
Before you start the installation process, it is recommended to update your system to the latest version. Open the terminal and type the following command:
sudo zypper update

sudo zypper install apache2 php7 php7-mysqlnd php7-gd php7-zip php7-fileinfo php7-dom php7-xmlreader php7-json php7-intl mysql-community-server
Pydio requires a MySQL database to store its data. Run the following command to start the MySQL server:
sudo systemctl start mysql
Create a new database and user for Pydio:
sudo mysql -u root
CREATE DATABASE pydio;
CREATE USER 'pydio'@'localhost' IDENTIFIED BY 'password';
GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON pydio.* TO 'pydio'@'localhost';
FLUSH PRIVILEGES;
EXIT;
Replace 'password' with a strong password for the user.

sudo tar -xvf pydio-core-8.2.5.tar.gz -C /var/www/
Set the correct permissions for the Pydio directory:
sudo chown -R wwwrun:www /var/www/pydio
Create a new configuration file for Apache:
sudo nano /etc/apache2/conf.d/pydio.conf
Add the following lines to the file:
Alias /pydio /var/www/pydio/
<Directory /var/www/pydio>
Options FollowSymLinks
AllowOverride All
Require all granted
</Directory>
Save and close the file.
Run the following command to restart the Apache service:

If you want to self-host in an easy, hands free way, need an external IP address, or simply want your data in your own hands, give IPv6.rs a try!
Alternatively, for the best virtual desktop, try Shells!
