In this tutorial, we will show you how to install Volumio on OpenSUSE latest. Volumio is a free and open source music player software that runs on a wide range of devices, including the Raspberry Pi. It is designed to be easy to use and it provides a simple and elegant interface for accessing your music library.
Before we start, make sure you have the following:
First, we need to download the Volumio image from the official website. Go to https://volumio.com/ and click on the "Download" button. Select the appropriate image for your device. In this tutorial, we will download the generic x86 image.
wget https://updates.volumio.org/x86/volumio/2.873/volumio-2.873-2021-05-17-x86.iso
Next, we need to write the Volumio image to a USB drive. Insert a USB drive into your computer and check its name using the following command:
lsblk
In this tutorial, we will assume that the USB drive is named "/dev/sdb". Use the following command to write the Volumio image to the USB drive:
sudo dd if=volumio-2.873-2021-05-17-x86.iso of=/dev/sdb bs=4M status=progress
Wait for the command to finish, it may take several minutes depending on the size of the USB and the speed of your computer.
After the image is written to the USB drive, we can now boot our computer from the USB drive. Insert the USB drive into your computer and restart your computer. During the boot process, press the key that corresponds to the boot menu (e.g. F11, F12 or Delete) and select the USB drive.
Once you boot from the USB drive, you will see the Volumio installation interface. Follow the wizard to install Volumio on your computer.
After the installation is complete, you can start using Volumio to play your music. Open your web browser and go to the IP address of your Volumio device (e.g. http://192.168.1.100). You can now access your music library and start listening to your favorite tunes.
Congratulations, you have successfully installed Volumio on OpenSUSE latest. Enjoy your music!
