Firezone is a VPN (Virtual Private Network) service that allows you to browse the internet securely, protect your privacy, and bypass restricted content. Here's how you can install Firezone on POP! OS.
Before installing Firezone, make sure that your system is up to date. Open the terminal on your POP! OS system and type the following command to update your system:
sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade
Now, download the Firezone package from their official website. You can use the following command:
wget https://www.firez.one/files/firezone-latest.deb
Once the package is downloaded, use the following command to install it:
sudo apt install ./firezone-latest.deb
This command will install the Firezone package with all its dependencies.
After installation, you can launch Firezone from the Applications menu or by typing the following command in the terminal:
firezone
Once you launch Firezone, you will be prompted to log in with your Firezone account. If you do not have an account yet, you will need to create one.
After logging in, select the server location you want to connect to, and click on the Connect button. Once you are connected, Firezone will encrypt your internet traffic and protect your privacy.
Congratulations! You have successfully installed and connected to Firezone VPN on POP! OS.
If you want to self-host in an easy, hands free way, need an external IP address, or simply want your data in your own hands, give IPv6.rs a try!
