Before proceeding with the installation of GeneWeb on POP! OS Latest, you need to ensure that your system meets the following requirements:
GeneWeb can be downloaded from the official website at https://geneweb.tuxfamily.org/wiki/GeneWeb. Once downloaded, extract the archive to your preferred location.
To install OpenJDK 8, open the Terminal and execute the following command:
sudo apt-get install default-jdk
If you have OpenJDK 8 or higher installed on your system, skip this step.
To start the GeneWeb server, open the Terminal and navigate to the GeneWeb directory by executing the following command:
cd /path/to/gw

./gw_setup
