MiroTalk P2P is a decentralized, peer-to-peer video and audio communication tool that helps you connect with others without the need for a centralized server. In this tutorial, we will guide you through the process of installing MiroTalk P2P on the latest version of POP! OS.
Before we begin the installation process, make sure you have the following requirements:
First, you need to download the MiroTalk P2P binary file for Linux from the official website at https://p2p.mirotalk.com. Once the download is complete, the file will be saved in your Downloads folder.
Alternatively, you can use the following command to download the file from the terminal:
wget https://cdnsite.mirotalk.com/download/linux/MiroTalk-latest.deb
Once you have downloaded the MiroTalk P2P binary file, you can now proceed with the installation process. Follow these steps:
Open the terminal by pressing CTRL + ALT + T or search for "Terminal" in the Applications menu.
Change the directory to the Downloads folder using the following command:
cd ~/Downloads
Install the GDebi package installer by running the following command:
sudo apt-get install gdebi-core

Now that GDebi is installed, you can use it to install MiroTalk P2P. Run the following command to install the package:
sudo gdebi MiroTalk-latest.deb

Launch MiroTalk P2P from the Applications menu or by running the following command:
mirotalk
Go to the "Preferences" menu by clicking the three horizontal lines icon at the top right corner of the application window.
In the "Preferences" window, go to the "Audio" tab and select the input and output devices you want to use for your audio conversations.
Similarly, go to the "Video" tab and select the input device you want to use for your video conversations.
Once you have configured your devices, you can start using MiroTalk P2P to make audio and video calls with your contacts.
