In this tutorial, we will guide you through the process of installing OTS on POP! OS Latest.
OTS is a desktop sharing and remote access tool that provides users with the ability to control another computer from their own device. This software is available for download from the official OTS website, and it is compatible with popular Linux distributions such as POP! OS.
Follow the steps below to install OTS on your POP! OS system.
Before we begin, ensure that you have the following prerequisites:
Launch your web browser and visit the official OTS website using the URL https://ots.fyi/. On the website navigate and locate the Linux download section. Click the LINUX button to start the download. This should start the download of the OTS.deb package.
gdebi is a convenient utility that allows for the easy installation of .deb packages, which is what the OTS package is. To install gdebi, run the following command in your terminal:
sudo apt install gdebi
The installation of gdebi should not take long, and once the installation process is complete, we can proceed to the next step.
Navigate to the directory where you downloaded the OTS.deb package. If you downloaded the package to your Downloads folder, you can use the following command to navigate to that directory:
cd ~/Downloads
Once you are in the directory that contains the OTS.deb package, run the following command to install OTS using gdebi:
sudo gdebi ots_*.deb
The installation process should begin, and you will be prompted to enter your system password. Once you have entered your password, gdebi will install OTS on your system.
After the installation process is complete, you can launch OTS by typing "OTS" in the search bar. This should bring up the OTS application icon. Click on the icon to launch the app.
You should now be able to use OTS to share your desktop and provide remote access to your device using OTS.
That's it! You have successfully installed OTS on your POP! OS system. You can now enjoy using OTS to provide remote access to your device or to control other computers remotely.
