PocketBase is a relational database management system that you can install on your POP! OS Linux computer. Here are the steps to install PocketBase on POP! OS:
Before you can install PocketBase, there are some dependencies you need to install. Open a terminal window and type the following command to download and install dependencies:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install build-essential python-dev python-setuptools python-pip python-smbus git libncursesw5-dev libgdbm-dev libc6-dev zlib1g-dev libsqlite3-dev tk-dev libssl-dev openssl
Once the dependencies are installed, you need to clone the PocketBase repository from GitHub. Type the following command to clone the repository:
git clone https://github.com/mikaelhg/pocketbase.git
After cloning the repository, navigate to the PocketBase directory and run the setup.py script to install PocketBase:
cd pocketbase/
sudo python setup.py install
To verify that PocketBase is installed correctly, open a Python interpreter by typing python in a terminal window. Then, import the PocketBase module by typing the following command:
import pocketbase
If there are no errors, PocketBase is installed and ready to use.
PocketBase is now installed on your POP! OS Linux computer. You can start using PocketBase to manage your relational database needs.
