This tutorial will guide you through the process of installing This Week in Past on the latest version of POP!_OS.
Before you begin, make sure you have the following:
A computer running the latest version of POP!_OS.
Git installed on your system. You can install it by running the following command in your terminal:
sudo apt-get install git
First, go to the This Week in Past GitHub repository at https://github.com/RouHim/this-week-in-past and click the "Code" button.
Click the "Download ZIP" button and save the zip file to your computer.
Extract the contents of the zip file to a directory of your choice.
Open a terminal and navigate to the directory where you extracted the contents of the zip file.
Run the following command to install the required dependencies:
sudo apt-get install python3-pip libcairo2 libpango-1.0-0 libpangocairo-1.0-0 libgtk-3-0 libatk-bridge2.0-0 libgdk-pixbuf2.0-0
Run the following command to install the required Python packages:
pip3 install -r requirements.txt
You can now run This Week in Past by executing the following command:
python3 this_week_in_past.py
This Week in Past will now run in your terminal.
Congratulations! You have successfully installed This Week in Past on your POP!_OS system. You can now easily browse through the history of important events that occurred during the week in the past.
