Installing nsedit on POP! OS Latest

In this tutorial, we will guide you through the steps to install nsedit on a POP! OS Latest operating system.

Step 1 - Install Dependencies

Before installing nsedit, we need to install some necessary dependencies. Open a terminal and run the following command to install the required packages:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install git libcurl4-openssl-dev libssl-dev cmake -y

Once the installation is complete, run the following command to verify if everything is working:

cmake --version

Step 2 - Clone the nsedit Repository

Next, we need to clone the nsedit repository. Run the following command in the terminal:

git clone https://github.com/tuxis-ie/nsedit.git

This command will clone the repository into your current working directory.

Step 3 - Build and Install

Navigate to the cloned repository by running:

cd nsedit

Now, we need to build and install nsedit. Run the following commands in order:

mkdir build
cd build
cmake ..
make
sudo make install

This command will configure and compile nsedit. make install copies the binary to the /usr/local/bin directory as per standard UNIX convention.

Step 4 - Verify the Installation

To verify if the installation was successful, run the following command in the terminal:

nsedit --version

This command should show the version information. If you see an output similar to nsedit version 1.0, it means the installation was successful.

That's it! You have successfully installed nsedit on POP! OS Latest.
