VestaCP is a simple, but powerful, web hosting control panel that allows you to manage your websites, DNS, email, and more on your Ubuntu Server. In this tutorial, we will guide you through the installation process of VestaCP on Ubuntu Server.
Before we start, it is important to update our system packages to the latest version available. To update Ubuntu Server, run the command:
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade
Now it's time to download the installation script for VestaCP by running the following command:
sudo curl -O http://vestacp.com/pub/vst-install.sh
Once the script is downloaded, you can run it by running this command:
sudo bash vst-install.sh
The installation script will start to ask you questions, and you can simply answer them with "y" for "yes" or "n" for "no".
In addition, you'll be able to select your web server (Apache or Nginx) and your DNS server (Bind or PowerDNS), set the hostname for your server, select your email server (Exim or Dovecot), and set up your admin credentials.
Once you complete the installation wizard, VestaCP will be installed on your server.
To access VestaCP, log in to the admin panel by navigating to your server's IP address followed by "/vesta". For example:
https://server_ip_address/vesta
Log in with the username and password you created during the installation process.
In this tutorial, we went through the installation process of VestaCP on Ubuntu Server. Once you follow this guide, you will have a simple and powerful web hosting control panel to manage your servers' website, DNS, email, and more.
If you want to self-host in an easy, hands free way, need an external IP address, or simply want your data in your own hands, give IPv6.rs a try!
