Goeland is a simple UDP load balancer that is available on GitHub at https://github.com/slurdge/goeland. In this tutorial, we will guide you through the steps of installing Goeland on Void Linux.
Before you begin the installation process, make sure that you have the following prerequisites:
To install Goeland, we need to install some dependencies first. Run the following command to install required dependencies:
sudo xbps-install -Syu build-essential libev-dev
This command will download and install the required packages on your system.
Now, we need to clone the Goeland repository from GitHub to our system. To do so, run the following command:
git clone https://github.com/slurdge/goeland.git
This command will clone the repository to your current working directory.
Now, navigate to the newly cloned Goeland directory by running the following command:
cd goeland
Next, build and install Goeland using the following command:
make && sudo make install
The make
command will compile the Goeland code, and sudo make install
will install the binary to your system.
To verify the installation of Goeland, run the following command:
goeland -h
This command will display the help message of Goeland, which means that the installation was successful.
That's it! You have successfully installed Goeland on Void Linux. Now, you can use it to balance the load of your UDP servers.
If you want to self-host in an easy, hands free way, need an external IP address, or simply want your data in your own hands, give IPv6.rs a try!
Alternatively, for the best virtual desktop, try Shells!
