How to Install Localizer on Void Linux

Localizer is a localization platform that helps businesses translate their content quickly and easily. In this tutorial, we'll take you through the process of installing Localizer on your Void Linux system.

Prerequisites

Before we begin, please make sure you have the following:

Step 1: Install Node.js

Localizer is built on Node.js, so the first thing you'll need to do is install Node.js on your system. To do that, open the terminal and run the following command:

xbps-install -S nodejs

This will download and install the latest version of Node.js on your system.

Step 2: Install Git

Next, we'll need to install Git so that we can download Localizer from its GitHub repository. To do that, run the following command in the terminal:

xbps-install -S git

This will install Git on your system.

Step 3: Clone Localizer

Now that we have Git installed, we can clone the Localizer repository from GitHub. To do that, run the following command in the terminal:

git clone https://github.com/localizer/localizer.git

This will download the Localizer source code to your system.

Step 4: Install Localizer Dependencies

Before we can use Localizer, we need to install its dependencies. To do that, navigate to the Localizer directory that we just cloned by running the following command in the terminal:

cd localizer

Now run the following command to install Localizer's dependencies:

npm install

This will download and install the required dependencies.

Step 5: Set up Localizer

Now that we have Localizer installed and its dependencies downloaded, we can now set it up. To do that, run the following command:

npm run setup

This will prompt you to enter your Localizer API key. You can find your API key on your Localizer account dashboard. Once you've entered your API key, the set up process is complete.

Step 6: Start Localizer

Finally, we can start Localizer by running the following command:

npm start

This will start the Localizer server on your system.

Congratulations, you've successfully installed Localizer on your Void Linux system!

If you want to self-host in an easy, hands free way, need an external IP address, or simply want your data in your own hands, give IPv6.rs a try!

Alternatively, for the best virtual desktop, try Shells!
