Overleaf is a popular web-based LaTeX editor that allows users to create and collaborate on LaTeX documents. In this tutorial, we will go over the steps to install Overleaf on Void Linux.
Before we begin, please make sure your system meets the following prerequisites:
We need to install some necessary dependencies before installing Overleaf. Run the following command in your terminal:
sudo xbps-install -S texlive-full perl
This command will install the full version of Tex Live and Perl on your system.
To download Overleaf, open your browser and navigate to the Overleaf website. Click on the "Register" button to create an account. Once you have an account, navigate to the Overleaf v2 webpage.
In the top menu bar, click on the "Download" button and select "Download .zip." This will download a .zip file with the Overleaf source code.
Open your terminal and navigate to the directory where you downloaded the Overleaf .zip file. Use the following command to extract the files:
unzip overleaf-master.zip
This command will extract the Overleaf source code into a new directory called "overleaf-master."
Navigate to the "overleaf-master" directory and run the following command to install Overleaf:
perl install-gui.pl
This command will start the installation process. Follow the on-screen instructions to install Overleaf.
Once the installation is complete, you can run Overleaf by typing the following command in your terminal:
overleaf
