RustDesk is a remote desktop software that allows you to access your computer from anywhere securely. In this tutorial, we will install RustDesk on Void Linux.
Before we get started, you need to ensure the following:
Open the terminal and update your system package list.
sudo xbps-install -Suv
We need to install some dependencies that are required for the RustDesk installation process. Run the following command:
sudo xbps-install -S gcc cmake libxcb-devel libXi-devel openssl openssl-devel
Download RustDesk from their official website. You can use the following command to download the latest version of RustDesk:
curl -LO https://rustdesk.com/builds/rustdesk-latest-x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu.tar.gz
Extract the downloaded file:
tar xzf rustdesk-latest-x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu.tar.gz
Now we will install RustDesk on our system. Run the following command:
cd rustdesk-latest-x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu
sudo cp rustdesk /usr/local/bin/
You can now run RustDesk and enjoy remote desktop access. You can start RustDesk by running the following command:
rustdesk
