If you're looking for a time tracking tool that can help you keep track of your work hours, TimeTagger might be just what you need. However, installing the software can be a bit tricky if you're using Void Linux. In this tutorial, we'll go through the steps you need to take to install TimeTagger on Void Linux.

Prerequisites

Before beginning, make sure you have these things:

Step 1: Add Timetagger Repository

To install TimeTagger on Void Linux, you'll need to first add the Timetagger repository to your system's list of repositories. Open your terminal and follow these steps:

  1. Update your system's package repository list using this command:
sudo xbps-install -S
  1. Add the Timetagger repository to your system, by creating a file at /etc/xbps.d/timetagger.conf with these contents:
repository=https://timetagger.app/static/void-packages/

You can use any text editor, such as nano or vim, to create this file. Make sure that your system is able to connect to the internet when you run this command, so that the system can add the Timetagger repository.

Step 2: Install Timetagger

Once you have added the Timetagger repository, you can install the software using xbps-install command in the terminal:

sudo xbps-install -S timetagger

The -S option updates your system's package database before installing the software. This will ensure that you have the latest package list, and that there are no conflicts or errors while installing TimeTagger.

Step 3: Run TimeTagger

After the installation is complete, you can launch TimeTagger using the timetagger command in the terminal:

timetagger

This will launch the TimeTagger application. You can now configure your preferences and start tracking your time.

Step 4: Uninstall TimeTagger

If you no longer need TimeTagger on your system, you can easily remove it using the xbps-remove command in the terminal:

sudo xbps-remove timetagger

This will remove the TimeTagger package from your system. If you have any individual TimeTagger configuration files or directories, you may also consider removing them manually to completely remove TimeTagger from your system.

That's all it takes to install Timetagger on Void Linux! With Timetagger installed, you're now able to keep track of your work hours and improve your productivity.
