Step 1: Download Amanda
You can download Amanda from their website: http://www.amanda.org/download.php. Make sure to select the right version for your operating system (Windows 10).
Step 2: Install Amanda
Once you have downloaded Amanda, extract the files to a folder of your choice.
Open the Command Prompt with administrator privileges.
Navigate to the folder where you extracted the Amanda files using the cd
command.
Run the amanda-server-3.5.1.exe
file.
Follow the instructions displayed on the screen to complete the installation process.
Step 3: Configure Amanda
Once Amanda has been installed, navigate to the C:\Program Files\Zmanda\Amanda
directory.
Open the amanda.conf
file with a text editor.
Modify the configuration options to your liking. Make sure to specify the backup location and any other relevant settings.
Save the amanda.conf
file.
In the Command Prompt, run the amcheck
command to verify the Amanda installation.
Step 4: Start Amanda
In the Command Prompt, navigate to the C:\Program Files\Zmanda\Amanda
directory.
Run the amdump
command to start Amanda.
Congratulations! You have successfully installed Amanda on your Windows 10 machine.
