Chevereto is a free and open-source image hosting software that allows users to create their own image hosting website. In this tutorial, we will guide you through the installation process of Chevereto on Windows 10 using XAMPP.
Install XAMPP on your Windows 10 operating system by following the prompts of the installation wizard.
After installation, open the XAMPP control panel and start the Apache and MySQL services.
Next, extract the Chevereto source code to the XAMPP htdocs folder. You can find the folder at C:\xampp\htdocs.
Open your web browser, and in the address bar, type "localhost/phpmyadmin". This will take you to the MySQL database control panel.
Once you are on the control panel, click on the "New" button on the left side of the screen to create a new database. Name your database "chevereto" and click on the "Create" button.
After creating the database, click on the "Import" button on the top menu. Select the Chevereto SQL file that you downloaded from the Github repository.
Once you have imported the SQL file, open the "inc\config.php" file in the Chevereto source code directory.
In the config file, update the following fields with your MySQL database information:
Save the changes to the "config.php" file.
Open your web browser and type "localhost/chevereto" in the address bar. This will run the "install.php" file.
On the installation page, fill out the required fields. Be sure to set a strong admin password.
Once you have filled out all the required fields, click on the "Install Chevereto" button.
After a few minutes, the installation process will be completed. You can now access your newly installed Chevereto image hosting website at "localhost/chevereto".
