Evergreen is an open-source integrated library system that is designed to manage library resources, catalog, circulation, and acquisitions. In this tutorial, we will guide you through the process of installing Evergreen on Windows 10.
Download and install PostgreSQL on your computer from the official website: https://www.postgresql.org/download/windows/
During the installation process, ensure that you set a strong password for the postgres
user.
Go to the Evergreen website: https://evergreen-ils.org/
Click on the "Download" link and then choose "Windows Packages".
Download the "Evergreen Windows Install" package.
Double-click on the downloaded package to extract the files to a folder on your computer.
Open the folder and double-click on the "install.bat" file to start the installation process.
Follow the prompts to install Evergreen.
When prompted to provide the PostgreSQL database details, enter the following information:
localhost
5432
evergreen
postgres
<Your PostgreSQL password>
Note: If your PostgreSQL installation was done with different details, use those details instead.
After entering the details, click on the "Test Connection" button to verify that the connection is working correctly.
Click on the "Next" button to continue the installation process.
In the next step, you'll need to configure the Evergreen server settings. You can accept the default settings or customize as needed.
Once the configuration is complete, click on the "Finish" button to complete the installation process.
To start the Evergreen server, go to the Start menu and search for "Evergreen Server".
Once you find the Evergreen Server program, click on it to start the server.
After starting the server, you should be able to access the Evergreen web client by opening a web browser and navigating to http://localhost:8080/
