KairosDB is a powerful time-series database that is used to store and analyze large volumes of time-stamped data. This tutorial will guide you through the installation process of KairosDB on a Windows 10 computer.
Before we begin, ensure that you have the following prerequisites installed on your Windows 10 computer:
To download the KairosDB source code, go to the GitHub repository and use the following command in your terminal:
git clone https://github.com/kairosdb/kairosdb.git
This will download the KairosDB repository to your local machine.
Once you have downloaded the KairosDB repository, navigate to the root folder of the project and run the following command:
.\gradlew build
This will build KairosDB from the source code.
After KairosDB has finished building, navigate to the conf
folder in the KairosDB directory and open the kairosdb.properties
file.
Update the value of the kairosdb.jetty.port
property to the port number that you want to use, for example:
kairosdb.jetty.port=8080
Save and close the file.
To start KairosDB, go to the root of the KairosDB directory and run the following command:
.\bin\kairosdb.bat start
This will start the KairosDB server on the port that you configured in the previous step.
To verify that KairosDB is running properly, open a web browser and go to the following URL:
http://localhost:8080
If KairosDB is running properly, you should see the KairosDB web interface.
Congratulations! You have successfully installed and configured KairosDB on your Windows 10 computer.
If you want to self-host in an easy, hands free way, need an external IP address, or simply want your data in your own hands, give IPv6.rs a try!
Alternatively, for the best virtual desktop, try Shells!
