Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure that you have the following software installed:
- Java Development Kit (JDK) 8 or higher
- MySQL 5.6 or higher
Step 1: Download and Extract Metabase
- Go to the Metabase website: https://metabase.com/
- Click on the "Download" button.
- Under "Self-Hosted", click on the "Standalone JAR" option.
- Once downloaded, extract the ZIP file to your desired location.
Step 2: Configure MySQL
- Open MySQL Workbench.
- Create a new schema for Metabase.
- Create a new user and grant it full privileges to the schema.
- Note down the database name, username, and password as you will need them for the next step.
Step 3: Start Metabase
- Open Command Prompt or PowerShell.
- Navigate to the directory where you extracted the Metabase ZIP file.
