How to Install OSSN on Windows 10

Open source social network (OSSN) is a popular and free social networking software available for people to use. In this tutorial, we will show you how to install OSSN on your Windows 10 operating system.

Prerequisites

Before you start, you will need the following:

• A Windows 10 computer
• Apache web server
• MySQL server
• PHP

Steps

Follow these steps to install OSSN:

1. Download the OSSN software from the official website https://www.opensource-socialnetwork.org/.
2. Extract the downloaded files to a folder where the Apache server can access it.
3. In the extracted folder, locate the file named ossn.config.site.php and rename it to ossn.config.php.
4. Open ossn.config.php file in a text editor and modify the following details:

• $Ossn->db - this should contain your MySQL database details such as the hostname, database username, and password.
• $Ossn->wwwroot - this should be set as the full URL to your OSSN installation folder.

5. Open the php.ini file and make sure that the following extensions are enabled:

• pdo_mysql
• mysqli
• gd
• mbstring

6. Open your browser and navigate to your localhost server using the URL http://localhost/.
7. Create a new folder inside your htdocs folder named ossn.
8. Copy the contents of the extracted files to htdocs/ossn.
9. Open your browser and navigate to http://localhost/ossn. You should see the OSSN installation page.
10. Follow the instructions on the installation page to complete the installation process.

Once the installation is complete, you can log in to your OSSN dashboard using the admin credentials that you have created during the installation.
