Peppermint is a Linux-based operating system that is designed to be lightweight and fast. In this tutorial, we will show you how to install Peppermint on your Windows 10 computer.
Step 1 - Download Peppermint
Visit https://peppermint.sh/ and download the latest version of Peppermint. Choose the .iso file that matches your system architecture.
Step 2 - Create a Bootable USB Drive
- Insert a USB drive with at least 4GB of storage into your computer.
- Open the Rufus application.
- Select your USB drive in the "Device" section.
- In the "Boot selection" section, click the "SELECT" button and choose the Peppermint .iso file you just downloaded.
- Click the "START" button to begin creating a bootable USB drive.
Step 3 - Boot from the USB Drive
- Restart your computer.
- Press the key that opens your computer's boot menu. This is usually one of the following keys: F2, F8, F12, Delete, or Esc.
- Use the arrow keys to select your USB drive from the boot menu and press Enter.
Step 4 - Install Peppermint
- Peppermint will start from the USB drive. From the boot menu, select "Peppermint Live" and press Enter.
- Wait for the Peppermint desktop to load.
- Double-click the "Install Peppermint" icon on the desktop.
- Follow the installation wizard's instructions to complete the installation process.
- Once Peppermint is installed, restart your computer.
Step 5 - Boot into Peppermint
- During the boot process, press the key that opens your computer's boot menu.
- Select the hard drive that Peppermint is installed on and press Enter.
- Peppermint will start.
Congratulations! You have now installed Peppermint on your Windows 10 computer. Enjoy the fast, lightweight experience of Peppermint.
