How to Install Pi-hole on Windows 10

Pi-hole is a network-wide ad blocker that you can install on Windows 10, among other operating systems. Here's how you can install Pi-hole on your Windows 10 machine.

Step 1: Install Ubuntu

We need to run Pi-hole in a Linux environment, and for that, we'll be using a lightweight version of Linux called Ubuntu. Follow these steps to install Ubuntu on your Windows 10 machine.

  1. Open the Microsoft Store on your Windows 10 machine.
  2. Search for "Ubuntu" and click on the first result to open the Ubuntu page.
  3. Click the "Get" button to begin the installation process.
  4. Once the installation is complete, click the "Launch" button to open Ubuntu.

Step 2: Install Pi-hole

Now that we have Ubuntu installed, we can proceed with installing Pi-hole. Here are the steps to follow.

  1. Open the terminal in Ubuntu by pressing Ctrl+Alt+T.
  2. Copy and paste the following command into the terminal: curl -sSL https://install.pi-hole.net | bash
