Tigase is an XMPP server that allows you to set up your own messaging system. It is available for Windows 10 and can be installed using the following steps:
Go to the Tigase website https://tigase.net/xmpp-server and download the latest version of Tigase.
After the download is complete, extract the Tigase archive to a location of your choice. For example, you could extract it to C:\Tigase
.
Tigase requires Java to be installed on your system, so if you do not have Java installed, go to https://www.java.com/en/download/ and download the latest version of Java.
Open a command prompt and navigate to the tigase-server\bin
directory. In this directory, you will find a script called tigase.conf
. Open this file in a text editor.
In the tigase.conf
file, you can configure various settings for Tigase. For example, you can set the server port, configure SSL settings, and set up user authentication.
To start Tigase, open a command prompt and navigate to the tigase-server\bin
directory. Then, run the following command:
tigase.sh start etc/tigase.conf
This will start the Tigase server with the configuration specified in tigase.conf
.
You can test Tigase by opening a web browser and navigating to http://localhost:8080/
. If Tigase has been installed correctly, you should see a web page with the message "Tigase XMPP Server is running."
Congratulations! You have successfully installed Tigase on Windows 10.
