Tyk is an open-source API Gateway used for controlling and managing API requests. It can be installed on a Windows machine by following these steps:
Before installing Tyk on your Windows machine, make sure to have the following installed:
Download Tyk: Visit the official website of Tyk "https://tyk.io/" and download the latest version of Tyk Open Source for Windows.
Extract the zip file: Extract the downloaded zip file to a directory of your choice.
Environment Variables: Press the Windows key and search for "environment variables." Click on "Edit the system environment variables."
Edit Environment Variables: In the "System Properties" window, click on the "Environment Variables" button. Under "System Variables," add a new variable "TYKPATH" and set the value to the path where the Tyk files were extracted in Step 2.
Install Tyk: Open the command prompt and navigate to the directory where the Tyk files were extracted in Step 2. Execute the following command to install Tyk:
.\install.bat --listenport=8080
.\redis-server.exe
.\tyk-analytics.exe
That's it. You have successfully installed Tyk on your Windows machine. You can now use it to manage your APIs.
