Once you have confirmed the aforementioned requirements, you can proceed to install Wireshark on your Windows 10 machine by following the steps below:
Download the Wireshark installer from the official website using the link below:
Once the download is complete, locate the installer file that you downloaded and double-click on it to initiate the installation process.
At the first screen of the installer, click "Next" to continue.
Read the Wireshark License Agreement, and if you agree to the terms, click "I Agree" to proceed.
Choose the destination folder for Wireshark by clicking the "Browse" button or accept the default location and click "Next".
Choose the components you want to install. By default, all components are selected. If you don't need a particular component, uncheck it and click "Next".
Choose the installation type. The default option is "Typical", which installs all components with default settings. If you want to change some settings, choose "Custom" and click "Next".
Choose the Start Menu folder. By default, Wireshark creates a new folder named "Wireshark" under the Start Menu. If you want to change the name or location of the folder, click "Browse" and choose a different folder.
Choose whether Wireshark should be the default application for pcap files. By default, Wireshark is not set as the default application for pcap files. If you want to associate pcap files with Wireshark, check the relevant option and click "Next".
Choose whether to install WinPcap. WinPcap is required for packet capture on Windows. If you already have WinPcap installed, you can uncheck this option. If not, leave it checked and click "Next".
Choose the installation directory for WinPcap. If you have opted to install WinPcap, you will be asked to choose the directory where it will be installed. You can accept the default directory or choose a different one.
Finally, click "Install" to begin the installation of Wireshark and WinPcap (if installed).
When the installation is complete, click "Finish" to exit the installer.
Now you have successfully installed Wireshark on your Windows 10 machine!
