How to Install XCP-ng on Windows 10

Prerequisites

Step 1: Download the XCP-ng ISO file

The first step is to download the XCP-ng ISO file from the official website. You can download the latest version of XCP-ng from http://www.xcp-ng.org/.

Step 2: Create a Virtual Machine

Once you have downloaded the XCP-ng ISO file, you need to create a new virtual machine on your Windows 10 system. Follow these steps below to create a new virtual machine:

  1. Open the VirtualBox application and click on the New button located on the top left corner of the window.

  2. In the Name and operating system window, type a meaningful name for your virtual machine in the Name field.

  3. Select Linux as the Type and Other Linux (64-bit) as the Version. Click Next.

  8. In the File location and size window, choose a meaningful name and location for your virtual hard disk and allocate at least 10 GB disk space. Click Create.

Step 3: Install XCP-ng

Now that you have created a new virtual machine, you can install XCP-ng using the ISO file that you downloaded in Step 1. Follow these steps below to install XCP-ng:

  1. Right-click on the virtual machine that you created earlier and click on Settings.

  2. In the Storage tab, click on the Empty CD/DVD icon and then click the Choose Virtual Optical Disk File button.

  3. Navigate to the location where you downloaded the XCP-ng ISO file and select it. Click OK.

  4. Click on the virtual machine in the VirtualBox manager window and click on the Start button.

  5. The XCP-ng installer should now start. Follow the prompts given by the installer until the installation is complete.

Step 4: Log in to XCP-ng

  1. Open your web browser and navigate to https://localhost. The XCP-ng dashboard should now load.

  2. Log in using the default credentials. The default username is root and the default password is xcp-ng.
