Yacy is a peer-to-peer search engine that enables users to create their own search engine without relying on a central server. In this tutorial, you will learn how to install Yacy on Windows 10.
Before you begin, ensure that your device meets the following requirements:
Download the latest version of Yacy from their official website https://yacy.net/en/index.html
Extract the downloaded file to a directory of your choice.
Open the extracted directory and double-click on the yacy_setup.exe file.
The setup wizard will now launch. Click on the "Next" button to proceed.
Read the End-User License Agreement (EULA) and click on the "I Agree" button to continue.
Choose the directory where you want to install Yacy. You can either accept the default directory or choose a different location by clicking on the "Browse" button.
Click on the "Install" button to begin the installation process.
Wait for the installation to complete. This may take a few minutes, depending on your system's specifications.
Once the installation is complete, click on the "Finish" button to close the setup wizard.
Launch Yacy by going to the directory where Yacy is installed and double-clicking on the yacy.exe file.
Yacy will now open in your default browser. You can configure Yacy by following the displayed prompts.
