MyTinyTodo is a simple, lightweight, and open-source web-based task management application. You can use it to create and manage your to-do lists easily. In this tutorial, we will show you how to install myTinyTodo on a Windows 10 system.
Prerequisites
Before you begin the installation process, you should have the following:
- A Windows 10 system
- XAMPP web server installed on your system
- Basic knowledge of working with web servers and web applications

Step 1: Download myTinyTodo
The first step is to download the latest version of myTinyTodo from the official website. You can download it using the following link:

Once you have downloaded the file, extract its contents to a directory of your choice.
Step 2: Configure XAMPP
Before we can proceed with the installation of myTinyTodo, we need to configure XAMPP to create a new database.
- Open the XAMPP Control Panel by clicking on the XAMPP icon on your desktop.
- Start the Apache and MySQL modules by clicking on the "Start" button next to them.
- Click on the "Admin" button next to the MySQL module to open phpMyAdmin in your default web browser.
- In the phpMyAdmin page, click on the "New" button in the left sidebar to create a new database.
- Give the new database a name (e.g. mytinytodo) and click on the "Create" button.
Step 3: Installation
Now, we can proceed with the installation of myTinyTodo. Follow these steps:
- Copy the extracted myTinyTodo files to the XAMPP htdocs directory. The default location of the htdocs directory is
C:\xampp\htdocs
.
- Rename the extracted directory to
mytinytodo
.
- Open your web browser and navigate to
http://localhost/mytinytodo/
.
- Follow the instructions on the installation page.
- Select the language and click on the "Next" button.
- Accept the license agreement and click on the "Next" button.
- Enter the database information:
- Choose "MySQL" as the database type.
- Enter "localhost" in the "Database server" field.
- Enter the username and password for your MySQL server. The default username is "root" and the password is blank.
- Enter the name of the database you created earlier (e.g. mytinytodo).
- Leave the "Table prefix" field blank.
- Click on the "Next" button.
- Create an admin account by entering the required information.
- Click on the "Next" button.
- Review the installation summary and click on the "Install" button.
- Once the installation is complete, you will see a message with a link to the myTinyTodo login page.
- Click on the link and log in using the admin account you created earlier.
Congratulations! You have successfully installed myTinyTodo on Windows 10. You can now start using it to manage your to-do lists.
