How to Install openSIPS on Windows 10

openSIPS is an open source and highly scalable SIP server for real-time communications. This tutorial will guide you through the process of installing openSIPS on Windows 10.

Prerequisites

Step 1: Download openSIPS

Visit the official website of openSIPS https://opensips.org/ and go to the Downloads section. Find the Windows binary packages option and download the latest version of the OpenSIPS Server for Windows.

Step 2: Install openSIPS

  1. Locate the downloaded file and extract it.
  2. Open the bin folder and right-click on the opensipsctl.exe file.
  3. Click the Run as administrator option.
  4. Command Prompt window will appear, press 1 to create a new database schema.
  5. Once the database schema is created successfully, press CTRL + Z to close the Command Prompt window.

Step 3: Configure openSIPS

  1. Navigate to the etc folder in the extracted folder.
  2. Open the opensips.cfg file in a text editor.
  3. Using the text editor, locate the database configuration section.
  4. Update the database settings as per your requirements.
  5. Save the file and close the text editor.

Step 4: Start openSIPS

  1. Open the bin folder where you had previously located the opensipsctl.exe file.
  2. Right-click on the opensips.exe file.
  3. Click on Run as administrator.
  4. A Command Prompt window will appear showing the openSIPS server starting up.
