Installing Chamilo LMS on Windows 11

Prerequisites

In order to install Chamilo LMS on Windows 11, you will need:

Step 1 - Download Chamilo LMS

Step 2 - Extract Chamilo LMS

Step 3 - Copy Chamilo LMS to htdocs

Next, copy the extracted Chamilo LMS folder to the htdocs directory in your XAMPP installation. Typically, this directory can be found in C:\xampp\htdocs.

Step 4 - Create a MySQL Database

Chamilo LMS requires a MySQL database to store its data. If you don't already have one, you will need to create a new database using the XAMPP control panel.

1. Open the XAMPP control panel and start the Apache and MySQL modules.

2. Click on the "Admin" button next to MySQL to open the phpMyAdmin interface.

Step 5 - Configure Chamilo LMS

To configure Chamilo LMS, open your web browser and go to http://localhost/chamilo-lms.

1. Select your language and click "Next".

2. On the next page, Chamilo LMS will check if all the necessary libraries and extensions are installed on your server. If everything is ok, click "Next".

3. In the next step, enter the database details that you created earlier, including database name, host name, database username, and password.

4. Click "Test database connectivity" to check if the connection is successful.

5. If the connection is successful, click "Next".

6. On the next page, enter a username and password for the administrator account.

7. Click "Install" to start the installation process.

8. Once the installation is complete, log in to your Chamilo LMS account and start creating your courses.
