Clonezilla is a free, open source disk cloning and imaging software. It is extremely useful for creating and restoring backups of entire disk partitions or individual files. In this tutorial, we will go through the steps to install Clonezilla on Windows 11.
Open your web browser and navigate to the Clonezilla website at http://clonezilla.org/.
Click on the "Download" button in the top right corner of the homepage.
In the "Download" page, you will see several options for downloading Clonezilla. Choose the appropriate version for your system.
Once you have selected the version, click on the "Download" button next to it.
Wait for the download to complete.
Connect the USB drive to your computer.
Open the downloaded Clonezilla ISO file.
Download and install the Rufus tool from https://rufus.ie/.
Open Rufus and select the USB drive you just connected.
In the "Boot selection" section, click on the CD-ROM icon and select the downloaded Clonezilla ISO file.
Click on the "Start" button to create the bootable USB drive.
Wait for the process to complete.
Reboot your computer.
Open the boot menu by pressing the appropriate key during startup. The key to press may differ based on your system's manufacturer. Commonly used keys include F2, F8, F10, or F12.
Choose the USB drive from the list of available boot options.
Press "Enter" to proceed.
After booting from the USB drive, you will be presented with the Clonezilla menu.
Select "Clonezilla live (Default setting, VGA 1024x768)" and press "Enter".
Choose your preferred language and press "Enter".
Select "Start Clonezilla" and press "Enter".
You will be prompted to choose between using a local device or an SSH server. Select "local_dev" and press "Enter".
Choose the option that best fits your needs, either "disk_to_local_disk" or "disk_to_remote_disk". If you're not sure which option to choose, ask your IT administrator or refer to the Clonezilla documentation.
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation process.
Once the installation is complete, you can start using Clonezilla to create and restore backups.
