How to Install DeviceHive on Windows 11

DeviceHive is an open-source IoT platform that enables device communication and management. In this tutorial, we will walk you through the steps to install DeviceHive on Windows 11.

Step 1: Download DeviceHive

  1. Go to the DeviceHive website: https://www.devicehive.com/get_started
  2. Click the "Download DeviceHive" button.
  3. Select the latest version of DeviceHive available for Windows.
  4. Save the downloaded zip file to your preferred location.

Step 2: Extract the files

  1. Open File Explorer and navigate to the location where you saved the downloaded zip file.
  2. Right-click the zip file and select "Extract all".
  3. Choose a destination for the extracted files and click "Extract".

Step 3: Install DeviceHive

  1. Open Command Prompt and navigate to the directory where you extracted the files.
  2. Type the following command: mvn clean package.
  3. Wait for the build process to finish.
  4. Type the following command to start the DeviceHive server: java -jar target/devicehive-2.0.2-SNAPSHOT.jar.
  5. Wait for the server to start up.
  6. Open your web browser and navigate to http://localhost:8100/admin.
  7. Log in with the default username and password: admin for both.
  8. Follow the prompts to configure DeviceHive and begin using it.
