Dim is a free and open-source software that allows you to create and manage encrypted instant messaging conversations. In this guide, we will explain how to install Dim on Windows 11.
Before installing Dim, ensure that you have the following:
Open your web browser and navigate to the official Dim GitHub repository at https://github.com/Dusk-Labs/dim.
Click the green "Code" button and select "Download ZIP" to download the latest version of Dim.
Extract the ZIP file contents to a new folder on your Windows 11 computer.
Navigate to the new folder containing the extracted contents and double-click on the "Dim.exe" file.
Windows 11 may display a security warning, asking for your permission to run the software. Click "Run" to proceed.
The Dim installation wizard will appear. Follow the instructions provided to complete the installation process.
Once the installation is complete, launch Dim by double-clicking on the "Dim.exe" file again.
Dim will prompt you to create a new account or log in using an existing account. Follow the on-screen instructions to create your account or log in.
