DomainMOD is an open-source application that makes it easy to manage your domain names. It allows you to keep track of your domains, hosting accounts, and contacts all in one place. Here's how to install it on Windows 11:
Visit the DomainMOD website (https://domainmod.org) and click on the "Download" link in the top menu. You'll need to sign up for an account before you can download the software. Once you've signed up, you'll be able to download the latest version of DomainMOD.
DomainMOD requires a web server to run. You can either set up your own web server using software like Apache or Nginx, or you can use a pre-built web server like XAMPP or WAMP.
For this tutorial, we'll be using XAMPP. Download and install XAMPP from the official website (https://www.apachefriends.org/download.html). Once the installation is complete, open the XAMPP Control Panel and start the Apache and MySQL services.
Next, you'll need to create a new database for DomainMOD to use. Open up phpMyAdmin by clicking on the "Admin" button for MySQL in the XAMPP Control Panel. From there, click on "Databases" in the top menu and create a new database with a name of your choice.
Extract the DomainMOD zip file you downloaded in Step 1 to a folder on your computer. Rename the file "config.inc.sample.php" to "config.inc.php". Open the "config.inc.php" file in a text editor and update the following variables:
$dbhost: Set this to "localhost".$dbuser: Set this to the username for your MySQL database.$dbpass: Set this to the password for your MySQL database.$dbname: Set this to the name of the database you created in Step 3.Save the changes to the "config.inc.php" file and close the editor.
Move the entire extracted DomainMOD folder to the "htdocs" folder in your XAMPP installation directory. This is usually located at "C:\xampp\htdocs".
You can now access DomainMOD by opening up your web browser and navigating to "http://localhost/DomainMOD". You should see the login page for DomainMOD. Use the default login credentials (Username: "admin" / Password: "password") to log in.
You've now successfully installed DomainMOD on your Windows 11 computer. From now on, you'll be able to manage your domain names, hosting accounts, and contacts directly through the DomainMOD interface.
