Gerbera is a media server that allows users to easily stream multimedia files like music, videos, and pictures over a network. If you want to install Gerbera on your Windows 11 system, follow the steps outlined below:
Download the latest version of Gerbera from the official website here.
Extract the downloaded ZIP file to a folder on your system's local drive.
Press the Win + R
key combination to open the Run dialog box.
Type cmd
in the search box and press Enter
. This opens the Command Prompt.
Navigate to the extracted Gerbera folder using the cd
command. For example, if you extracted the Gerbera files to the C:\Gerbera
folder, type the following command: cd C:\Gerbera
Run the cmd_install.bat
script by typing the command: cmd_install.bat
. This will start the installation of Gerbera on your system.
Once the installation is complete, start Gerbera by running the gerbera.exe
file located in the Gerbera installation folder.
You can access Gerbera by opening a web browser and navigating to the location http://localhost:49152
. This will open the Gerbera web interface where you can manage and stream your multimedia files.
