Kerberos.io is a free video surveillance solution that uses computer vision algorithms to detect and record events. It is an open-source software that enables users to easily monitor their surroundings with a web-based interface.
In this tutorial, we will guide you on how to install Kerberos.io on Windows 11.
Download the latest version of XAMPP from their official website: https://www.apachefriends.org/download.html.
Install XAMPP on your machine.
Download the latest version of Kerberos.io from their official website: https://kerberos.io/download/.
Extract the downloaded Kerberos.io zip file to the ‘htdocs’ folder in the XAMPP installation directory.
Navigate to the C:\xampp\htdocs\kerberos.io directory using Windows File Explorer.
In this directory, locate the ‘.env’ file and rename it to ‘.env.local’.
Open the new ‘.env.local’ file in a text editor.
Find the following three lines with ‘DB_PASSWORD’, ‘DB_USERNAME’, and ‘DB_DATABASE’ respectively:
Replace ‘root’ with your own password, username, and database name respectively. Save the file and exit the text editor.
Start Apache and MySQL in the XAMPP Control Panel.
Open your web browser and go to ‘localhost/kerberos.io’. The Kerberos.io web interface will be displayed.
Congratulations! You have successfully installed Kerberos.io on your Windows 11 machine.
Now, you can use the web interface to configure and use Kerberos.io to monitor your surroundings.
