Minio is a cloud storage server that is compatible with Amazon S3 API. It is open-source, fast and scalable. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to install Minio on Windows 11 operating system.
Prerequisites
- You must have Windows 11 OS installed on your system.
- You must have administrative privileges on your Windows 11 system.
- You must have a web browser installed on your system.
Install Minio on Windows 11
- Open a web browser and navigate to the official website of Minio at https://minio.io/.
- Click on the "Download" button located on the top navigation bar.
- On the download page, select the "Stable" version for Windows operating system and click on the "Download Now" button.
- Once the download is complete, extract the ZIP file to a desired location on your system.
- Navigate to the extracted Minio folder and click on the "minio.exe" file to launch the Minio server.
- In the command prompt window that appears, note down the access key and secret key generated. These keys will be required later to access the Minio server.
- Open a web browser and go to the URL
http://localhost:9000. This will launch the Minio server interface.
- Click on the "Get Started" button to create a new bucket.
- Enter a name for the bucket and click on the "Create Bucket" button.
- Your new bucket is now created and you can upload files to it by clicking on the "Upload" button.
