OSIAM is an open-source identity and access management server. It provides easy user administration, authentication, and authorization to web applications and APIs. In this tutorial, we will guide you on how to install OSIAM on Windows 11 operating system.
Open your web browser and go to http://osiam.github.io/.
Click on the "Download" button on the top-right corner of the page.
Scroll down the page to the "Installation" section, and click on the link that says "Download the latest release."
Download the latest release of OSIAM, which will be a ZIP file.
Extract the ZIP file to a directory of your choice.
Open the Command Prompt by pressing the Windows key + R on your keyboard, typing "cmd" (without quotes), and clicking on "OK."
Navigate to the directory where you extracted the OSIAM ZIP file using the command prompt. For example, if you extracted the file to the C:\OSIAM directory, you would type cd C:\OSIAM
in the command prompt.
Type mvn install
in the command prompt and press Enter. This command will build the OSIAM project and install all of its dependencies.
Once the mvn install
command finishes executing, type mvn jetty:run
in the command prompt and press Enter. This command will start the OSIAM server.
Open your web browser and type "http://localhost:8080/osiam-web-admin/" in the address bar. This will take you to the OSIAM administrative interface.
Log in to the administrative interface using the default credentials (admin
for both username and password).
Congratulations! You have successfully installed OSIAM on your Windows 11 operating system. You can now use the OSIAM server to manage users, groups, and permissions for your web applications and APIs.
If you want to self-host in an easy, hands free way, need an external IP address, or simply want your data in your own hands, give IPv6.rs a try!
Alternatively, for the best virtual desktop, try Shells!
