Tutorial: How to Install OpenMediaVault on Windows 11

OpenMediaVault is a free and open-source network-attached storage (NAS) operating system that allows you to manage and access your data from any device. In this tutorial, we will guide you on how to install OpenMediaVault on Windows 11.

Prerequisites

Before installing OpenMediaVault on your Windows 11 computer, ensure that you have the following prerequisites:

Step 1: Download VirtualBox

VirtualBox is an open-source virtualization software that enables you to run multiple virtual machines on a single host computer. We will use VirtualBox to run OpenMediaVault on our Windows 11 computer.

Go to the Oracle VirtualBox official website at https://www.virtualbox.org/ and download the latest version of VirtualBox suitable for your Windows 11 computer.

Step 2: Download OpenMediaVault

Go to the OpenMediaVault official website at https://www.openmediavault.org/download.html and download the latest version of OpenMediaVault for VirtualBox.

Step 3: Install VirtualBox

Once the download is complete, double-click on the downloaded VirtualBox installer file and follow the on-screen prompts to complete the installation process.

Step 4: Create a New Virtual Machine

Open the VirtualBox software, click on the New button to create a new virtual machine.
