How to Install Open Streaming Platform on Windows 11

Open Streaming Platform (OSP) is an open-source live streaming platform that allows users to broadcast their video content live. In this tutorial, we will guide you through the process of installing OSP on Windows 11.

Prerequisites

Before starting the installation process, ensure that you have the following:

Step 1: Download OSP Source code

The first step is to download the OSP source code from the official website or GitHub page.

Step 2: Extract the Files

Extract the downloaded OSP zip file to a location where you want to install the OSP. A suggestion would be the www folder located in the WAMP installation directory (C:\wamp64\www by default).

Step 3: Create a database

Next, you need to create a new database for OSP. You can do this by accessing phpMyAdmin within the WAMP server dashboard. Click on the "New" button in the left-hand side window panel, enter a name for the database, and click on the "Create" button.

Step 4: Configure Database Details

Open the config.php file within the extracted OSP folder and update the database details under the "Database Configuration" section to match the details of the database you just created.

Step 5: Run the Installation Script

Open the web browser and go to localhost/OpenStreamingPlatform/install. This will run the installation script. Follow the instructions on the page, which will include filling in the details required for the installation such as the database name, database user, and password.

Step 6: Configure Streaming Settings

After the installation process, you can configure the streaming settings by accessing the admin panel at localhost/OpenStreamingPlatform/admin. Log in using the details provided during the installation.

Step 7: Start Streaming

OSP is now installed and ready for you to start streaming. You can access the live streaming feature by navigating to localhost/OpenStreamingPlatform/broadcast and filling in the details required to start the stream.

Congratulations! You have successfully installed Open Streaming Platform on Windows 11. Happy streaming!
