Overcast is a lightweight audio player and podcast manager for Windows and Linux. It is free and open-source software that can be downloaded from the official website or from GitHub. In this tutorial, we will guide you through the steps to install Overcast on Windows 11.
Prerequisites
- Windows 11 operating system
- Internet connection
- Administrator privileges
Step 1: Download Overcast
- Open any web browser and go to https://andrewchilds.github.io/overcast/.
- Click on the Download button to download the latest version of Overcast.
Step 2: Install Overcast
- Locate the downloaded Overcast setup file and double-click on it to start the installation process.
- Click the "Next" button on the Welcome screen.
- Read and agree to the End User License Agreement, then click "Next."
- Choose the installation folder location or keep the default one, then click "Next."
- Choose the additional tasks you want the setup to perform, then click "Next."
- Click "Install" to begin the installation.
- Wait for the installation to complete, then click "Finish."
Step 3: Launch Overcast
- Double-click on the Overcast icon from the desktop or the Start menu to launch the application.

- On the Add Podcasts screen, enter the URL of your favorite podcast, then click "Add."
- Overcast will start downloading and processing the podcast episodes.
