ReadyMedia, also known as MiniDLNA, is a lightweight media server that allows you to stream media files from your computer to other devices on your network. In this tutorial, we will guide you through the installation process of ReadyMedia on a Windows 11 machine.
Visit the MiniDLNA project page on SourceForge using your favorite web browser.
Scroll down the page and find the Files section. Click on the latest version of ReadyMedia to start the download. Alternatively, you can click the green Download button beside the latest release to get the executable file.
Once the download is complete, locate the executable file on your computer and double-click on it to start the installation process.
The installation wizard will now guide you through the necessary steps to install ReadyMedia. Accept the terms and conditions, and choose an installation path on your computer.
In the Select Additional Tasks screen, you can choose whether to create a desktop shortcut and add an exception in the Windows Firewall. You can keep these settings to their default values if you don't want to change any settings.
Once the installation is complete, you will see a message confirming that ReadyMedia has been installed successfully.
Launch ReadyMedia from the Start menu or desktop shortcut. By default, ReadyMedia will start scanning your computer for media files.
Once ReadyMedia has finished scanning your computer, you can start streaming your media files to other devices on your network.
Congratulations! You have successfully installed ReadyMedia on your Windows 11 computer. With ReadyMedia, you can now stream your favorite media files to other devices on your network with ease.
