How to Install RosarioSIS on Windows 11

RosarioSIS is a free and open-source Student Information System that is ideal for schools, colleges, and academies. In this tutorial, we will show you how to install RosarioSIS on Windows 11.

Prerequisites

Before we begin, make sure you have the following:

Step 1: Install XAMPP or WAMP Server

XAMPP and WAMP are popular web servers that allow you to host applications on your local machine. You can choose either of them based on your preference or familiarity.

Here’s how to install XAMPP on Windows 11:

  1. Download the XAMPP installer from the official website.
  2. Double-click the .exe file to start the installation process.
  3. Follow the installation wizard and select the components you want to install.
  4. Once the installation is complete, launch XAMPP Control Panel.

Step 2: Download RosarioSIS

Go to the official RosarioSIS website and download the latest stable version of RosarioSIS.

Step 3: Extract the RosarioSIS Files

Extract the downloaded RosarioSIS folder into the htdocs folder of XAMPP or WAMP. The htdocs folder is usually located at “C:\xampp\htdocs\” or “C:\wamp\www\” for XAMPP and WAMP, respectively.

Step 4: Create a Database

Open your preferred web browser and go to “http://localhost/phpmyadmin/”. This will open the phpMyAdmin interface.

  1. Click on the “Databases” tab.
  2. Enter a name for your new database.
  3. Click “Create” to create the database.

Step 5: Configure RosarioSIS

  1. Open your web browser and enter “http://localhost/RosarioSIS/” in the URL bar.
  2. Follow the installation wizard to configure the database settings.
  3. When prompted for the database name, enter the name of the database you created in Step 4.
  4. Finish the installation process by setting up your school and user accounts.

Step 6: Access Your RosarioSIS Instance

Once you’ve finished the installation, you can access your RosarioSIS instance by entering “http://localhost/RosarioSIS/” in your web browser. Enter your login credentials that you set up during the installation process to access the dashboard.
