SPIP is a Content Management System (CMS) that allows you to create and manage your website's content. If you are running Windows 11 and want to install SPIP, these are the steps you need to follow.
Visit the official SPIP website at https://www.spip.net/fr and download the latest version of SPIP to your computer. The file will be in a compressed format, so you'll need to extract it after downloading.
Copy the extracted SPIP files to the web server's directory where you want to host your website. You can use any method you prefer for copying files, such as FTP or file manager software.
Create a new database for your SPIP installation. You can do this using the database management tool provided by your web server. Make sure you note down the database details, including database username, password, and server.
Once SPIP is copied to your web server and the database is created, navigate to your website URL in your web browser. You will be prompted to start the installation process.
Once installation is complete, you can log in to your SPIP admin panel using the credentials you created in the previous step. Test your installation by adding a new article or page, and make sure it displays on your website.
Congratulations! You have successfully installed SPIP on Windows 11. You can now start creating and managing your website's content using SPIP.
If you want to self-host in an easy, hands free way, need an external IP address, or simply want your data in your own hands, give IPv6.rs a try!
Alternatively, for the best virtual desktop, try Shells!
