In this tutorial, we will guide you on how to install Simple-URL-Shortener on Windows 11 using Git Bash.
Prerequisites
- A Windows 11 machine or virtual machine
- Git bash installed on your machine
Installation Steps
- Open Git bash by clicking on the Windows search bar and typing "Git bash". Select "Git Bash - Run as administrator" from the list.
- Use the following command to navigate to the C Drive:
cd /c
- Clone the Simple-URL-Shortener repository using the following command:
git clone https://github.com/azlux/Simple-URL-Shortener.git
- Navigate to the Simple-URL-Shortener directory:
cd Simple-URL-Shortener
- Run the installation script by typing the following command:
./install.sh
- This will initiate the installation process, and you will be prompted to enter the domain name you want to use for your URL Shortener. Enter the desired domain name and press enter.
- Once the installation is complete, you can start the server by running the following command:
./start.sh
- The URL shortener will now be accessible at
http://yourdomain.com
.
