VictoriaMetrics is a fast, easy-to-use, and highly scalable open-source time-series database and monitoring platform. In this tutorial, we will guide you through the steps to install and configure VictoriaMetrics on Windows 11.
Prerequisites
Before we start, make sure you have the following prerequisites:
- Windows 11 Operating System
- Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package (available here)
Step 1: Download VictoriaMetrics
- Go to https://github.com/VictoriaMetrics/VictoriaMetrics in your web browser.
- Click on the green "Code" button on the right side of the page.
- Choose "Download ZIP" to download the zip file.
Step 2: Extract the VictoriaMetrics ZIP File
- Go to the downloaded ZIP file location on your computer.
- Right-click on the file and choose "Extract All".
- Select the destination folder for the extracted files and click "Extract".
Step 3: Start VictoriaMetrics
- Open a command prompt or PowerShell window.
- Navigate to the extracted VictoriaMetrics folder using the "cd" command. For example:
cd C:\Users\UserName\Downloads\VictoriaMetrics-main
.
- Run
victoriaMetrics-standalone.exe
file using the following command: .\victoriaMetrics-standalone.exe
.
- VictoriaMetrics will start and run in the console window.
Step 4: Configure VictoriaMetrics
- Open a web browser and go to
http://localhost:8428/
.
- In the web user interface, you can configure VictoriaMetrics and set up your data sources.
Congrats! You have successfully installed and configured VictoriaMetrics on your Windows 11 machine.
