How to Install Webmin on Windows 11

Webmin is a web-based interface for system administration for Unix-like systems. In this tutorial, we will show you how to install Webmin on a Windows 11 machine.

Prerequisites

  1. A Windows 11 machine with administrative privileges.

  2. A web browser such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Microsoft Edge.

  3. A stable internet connection.

Steps

  1. Download the installation file from the Webmin website at http://www.webmin.com/download.html.

  2. Extract the downloaded file to a suitable location on your machine.

  3. Open the extracted folder and locate the file named "setup-win.exe".

  4. Double-click on the file to launch the installation process.

  5. Click "Next" on the Welcome screen.

  6. Select the destination folder for Webmin. The default location is C:\webmin.

  7. Click "Next" to continue.

  8. Choose the components to install. The default selection includes all the necessary components. Click "Next" to proceed.

  9. Enter the username and password for the Webmin administrator account. This account is used to manage Webmin and the systems it controls.

  10. Click "Next" to continue.

  11. Review the installation settings and click "Install" to start the installation process.

  12. Once the installation completes, click "Finish" to close the installation wizard.

  13. Open your web browser and navigate to http://localhost:10000 to access the Webmin login page.

  14. Enter the username and password that you created during the installation process.

  15. Click "Login" to access the Webmin interface.
